The Log Window
The Log Window provides a view into the Thinking Home log file. To display the Log Window, you select Log from the Window menu.
You can search for words in the log file to display only relevent entries, and you can clear the log file. To set the options for logging, click the Options button.
Search field |
Works like the standard Mac OS search. Typing a word or part of a word or numbers in this field results in a smaller list, showing only those entries that match your search phrase. For example, if you type Living Room Lamp in the search field, only those entries that mention “Living Room Lamp” are displayed. Here is a more advanced example that uses pattern-matching: when you type 12:.*PM in the search field, only those entries with a timestamp like “12:xx.xx PM” are displayed. |
Options button |
Displays the Logging tab of the Preferences window so that you can select what information will be saved in the log and the maximum size of the log file. |
Clear button |
Pressing this button removes all entries in the log file. |
